If you would like to have your dog or cat cremated, Hamilton-Niagara Veterinary Mobile Euthanasia Services will facilitate transportation to Gateway Pet Memorial Services. When picking up your pet’s body, we will utilize Dignity Bag to ensure they depart from your home and are carried to our vehicle with dignity. You are welcome to place your pet's favorite treats, flowers or photos on paper stock for cremation if you so desire. Only organic items can be cremated at this time to help do our part to protect the environment.

Private cremation is available for those who would like to have their pet’s ashes returned. Your companion will be the only one in the cremation chamber, and their ashes will be placed in a complimentary urn engraved with your pet’s name and returned to you.

Once the process is complete, your pet's ashes and memorial products will be delivered to your home for an additional fee or you can choose to have them delivered to your regular veterinary clinic.

You will be contacted to inform you that your pet's ashes has been returned and arrangements for home delivery or clinic pick-up can be made at that time.

If you choose communal cremation, your companion will be cremated along with other recently deceased pets, and their ashes will be lovingly spread rather than being returned to you.

• At Gateway, when the cremation process is complete, the communal remains are collected and placed in an unmarked communal burial plot at the Sandy Ridge Pet Cemetery as a final tribute.
• A small representation from each communal cremation is placed in our ossuary
• If you choose, you are welcome to visit the ossuary to reflect and remember your pet.

Both communal and private cremation services are available.

If you plan to transport your pet to the crematorium yourself or wish to bury them at home, at-home burial is available. Please note, however, that regulations regarding pet burial at home are dependent upon the township or city in which you live. There may be restrictions in place to control the inadvertent exposure risk of the medication used for euthanasia as it relates to wildlife and/or other pets coming into contact with your pet after burial. If you would like to bury your pet at home, we will review local regulations with you to ensure that you are able to do so.

A complimentary paw print keepsake will be provided to you courtesy of Hamilton-Niagara Veterinary Mobile Euthanasia Services. Our team takes great pride in preparing this keepsake in remembrance of your beloved pet.
